A Trade Show Tale
Finding Fresh Home Décor
In the last couple of years, mainly thanks to travel restrictions, at Bode Living we’ve missed visiting the Spring/Summer trade shows. We learned alternative ways to discover fresh home décor inspiration, new products, and exciting brands for the season ahead. After the hectic Christmas period, a quiet start to 2023 seemed welcome! But this year, we were happily tempted out of hibernation early by the Maison et Objet trade show in Paris.
First Stop, Paris.
One of our favourites, the Maison et Objet show, always leaves us brimming with inspiration and buzzing with excitement. With barely two days’ notice, we were on our way, Miley Cyrus’s Flowers and Joesef’s Moment in our ears on heavy repeat. And after a quick flight across the Channel, we were delighted to find this year’s show was no different.

Next Stop, Denmark.
Buoyed by our fruitful visit to France, a day after returning to the UK we were planning our next trip. Just four days later, it was to Herning in Denmark for the Formland trade show. This proved equally as exciting for home design and décor shopping- we couldn’t help but be inspired.

Having found plenty of new brands any home décor store in the UK would be proud to stock, we returned home. Full of ideas and feeling invigorated, we couldn’t be more ready for the new season. So without further ado, let’s delve into the key home décor range trends for Spring/Summer 2023.
Key Home Décor Trends for the Season Ahead
Springtime brings to many of us a desire to enliven and update our homes. But how can I make my house look fresh?, you may ask. One of the easiest ways is the use of artwork, and bold striking pieces were a key trend this year. Fine art prints displayed in coloured frames could easily update a whole room. A great talking point, a work in bold primary colours nods also to this season’s comeback of the Memphis design movement.

The Memphis Trend
The clean lines and bold shapes of the Memphis style are also reflected in Kalager’s wire furniture designs. Offering striking silhouettes married with functional storage solutions, their pieces are as unusual as they are useful. Making organisation sleek and sexy was one of our key take-homes from the trade shows, and Kalager are nailing it.
Playful Tableware
Freshening up the look of a room needn’t require anything as significant as all new furniture, though. Objets d’art and table displays can easily lift your home décor- and pretty, playful tableware was another key trend. Familianna’s ceramics range and Kodanska’s colourful glassware both provide stunning home accessory options whilst &Klevering stole the show as always.

Final Stop, Bøde.
We couldn’t have found our visits to the Spring/Summer trade shows any more rewarding. We are confident that the new brands we are bringing to our customers will only serve to share that excitement. And all while helping all our clients revitalise their living spaces for the months to come.
